Hawkes Bay Clean Up

Following Cyclone Gabrielle, numerous water tanks in rural Hawke’s Bay were severely damaged. We partnered with Bin Hire, Devan, Sitrep Projects and Beca to collect the 11,654kg’s of plastic and bring it back to us here at Vision Plastics, Silverdale to be recycled into new plastic products.

Funding was provided to the Hastings District Council to collect, cut, initial clean, stack and transport the tanks to us for recycling. The $4,078.90 in funding was directed toward supplying updated and new administration kits for Community Emergency Hubs.

The public has continued to show interest in the return programme returning approximately 10 tanks so far. We remain dedicated to supporting our communities through meaningful recycling collaborations like this and look forward to expanding our impact in the future.
